Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is a health care profession that provides treatment for individuals to develop, maintain and restore maximum movement and function whilst reducing pain, throughout life. This includes providing treatment in circumstances where movement and function are threatened by injury, disease, ageing or environmental factors.

Chartered Physiotherapists combine their knowledge, skills and approach to improve a broad range of physical problems associated with different 'systems' of the body including muscular, joints, neurological, and respiratory.  People are often referred for physiotherapy by doctors or other health care professionals.

However, as a result of changes in the health care system and the increasing length of waiting times, people are referring themselves directly to Physiotherapists without previously seeing any other health care professional.

What do Chartered Physiotherapists do?

Physiotherapists are specialists in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of a wide variety of injuries and physical conditions.

Complete Health Clinic Physiotherapists are professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions with contacts in all relevant specialist fields. We are highly experienced and have worked with sportsmen and women from elite to club level.

We look at the entire person in a holistic manner with the intention to alleviate pain, restoring normal movement and thereby seeking to provide a long term solution to musculoskeletal problems.

At Complete Health Clinic Physiotherapy we believe in getting the patient back to full function, doing our very best to meet and where possible exceed our patients’ goals through rehabilitation and preventative exercise prescription.

Who can see a Chartered Physiotherapist?

Physiotherapy is available to everyone. You do not need a doctor to refer you for private physiotherapy. Physiotherapists are primary care practitioners and act as a first point of contact for patients, just like your GP. They also accept referrals from GP’s and consultants, which is necessary if claiming under private health / medical insurance.

Is Physiotherapy appropriate for you?

Please feel free to give us a call on 01275 349 006. We will be happy to speak to you in complete confidence. After a brief chat we can advise if physiotherapy assessment is appropriate. We can then arrange a suitable time for your initial assessment and treatment session.
